Easter Fun
This Easter we decided to head up to PA to get out of town and spend some time with family. Unfortunately Grandma and Pappy were off touring the Southwest, but were gracious enough to offer us their house for the weekend. Well, without Grandma and Pappy, their house isn't nearly as much fun, so we headed down the street to hang out with Aunt Kristen and her boys (who were lots of fun). First stop was her backyard playset-

Micaela's friend Avalon came with us on this trip, this is her playing on the teeter-totter with Nicholas
I'm not quite sure how he did it, but Kurt got all the kids to pile into the tunnel for a picture

Micaela showing me her "moves" or were they her "tricks"... I can't keep up.
On Sunday the weather held out long enough for us to have an Easter Egg Hunt and Grandma and Pappy's house. There were a TON of eggs and Kurt did a great job hiding them all over the place.

After the kids got tired with the playset they decided to go to the front yard to ride bikes. Avalon wasn't a bike rider, but decided she wanted to learn. It took approximately 10 seconds for her to figure it out. Next thing you know, this happened -
We had a gang.
They probably spent half the day riding around. I love Kristen's long driveway away from any traffic, it made watching the kids so easy.
Okay, these next few pictures are for Misty. She's a little better at it than we are, you can check out her blog at http://mischief-making.blogspot.com/

Miscellaneous Fun
Part I - Saturday
And now... for a guest appearance... Micaela!! She's usually absent from my blogs because she so busy running around and playing that I never get pictures of her. I'm not quite sure what is up with her puffy eyes in this picture, but she's doing really well and seems to enjoy living here.
Taking after his cousins, Jon has figured out how to turn a laundry basket into a super comfy boat. So, what do you do on a Saturday where you are mostly caught up on cleaning, cooking and laundry (thanks Mom!) and actually have time to relax? Well, of course, you rearrange the living room, family room, and dining room! Doesn't everyone do that?
Above is our "new" family room. The matching couches that we have went to the living room below.
And of course, since we got a "new" table courtesy of our friends Georgia and Todd (thanks guys!), we had to paint the dining room so that it would fit in with the rest of the house, see below. All in a day's work. I actually hate painting, so this sucked, but it looks nice. We still need to do some touch-up work, but it will be nice to have a finished room to eat dinner in.
Part II - Grandma and Grandpa's visit
The kids were thrilled to have grandma and grandpa visit. They actually played with them and took them outside (something I hate to do when it's cold). Grandpa and mom even helped Micaela with a mentos/Pepsi experiment that I had been postponing.
And for a special treat, grandma and grandpa took Jon to the zoo in Washington D.C. which was always my favorite as a kid because of the pandas. Apparently Jon had fun and liked the animals, but not quite as much as he liked crawling around and jumping off the big rocks around the exhibits.
Theybhad Jon walk most of the day so he was good and tuckered out for the babysitter by the end of the week.

Kid Pictures
So Jon figured out how to use the digital camera this weekend and he's actually pretty good for a two-year old. He might even be able to give mom some lessons. He even managed to turn the camera around and take the self-portraits below (I took the last picture though). Micaela is missing from these as she as a new BFF and spent the night over at her friend's house.
His poor lips are always chapped no matter what we do (the babysitter tries too).
