Miscellaneous Fun

Part I - Saturday And now... for a guest appearance... Micaela!! She's usually absent from my blogs because she so busy running around and playing that I never get pictures of her. I'm not quite sure what is up with her puffy eyes in this picture, but she's doing really well and seems to enjoy living here. Taking after his cousins, Jon has figured out how to turn a laundry basket into a super comfy boat. So, what do you do on a Saturday where you are mostly caught up on cleaning, cooking and laundry (thanks Mom!) and actually have time to relax? Well, of course, you rearrange the living room, family room, and dining room! Doesn't everyone do that? Above is our "new" family room. The matching couches that we have went to the living room below. And of course, since we got a "new" table courtesy of our friends Georgia and Todd (thanks guys!), we had to paint the dining room so that it would fit in with the rest of the house, see below. All in a day's work. I actually hate painting, so this sucked, but it looks nice. We still need to do some touch-up work, but it will be nice to have a finished room to eat dinner in. Part II - Grandma and Grandpa's visit The kids were thrilled to have grandma and grandpa visit. They actually played with them and took them outside (something I hate to do when it's cold). Grandpa and mom even helped Micaela with a mentos/Pepsi experiment that I had been postponing. And for a special treat, grandma and grandpa took Jon to the zoo in Washington D.C. which was always my favorite as a kid because of the pandas. Apparently Jon had fun and liked the animals, but not quite as much as he liked crawling around and jumping off the big rocks around the exhibits.

Theybhad Jon walk most of the day so he was good and tuckered out for the babysitter by the end of the week.

Micaela's not the little girl I remember from your wedding! We rearrange the furniture all the time, though it's harder now that we've mounted the tv on the wall. But every new arrangement seems so much better than the last. I like the dining room color!
