Aunt Weezy here.

I'm hijacking Liz's blog (I even correctly guessed her password) to tell everyone to go on over to my blog to check out some pictures of 10lb 2oz Jonathan Spencer. He was born on May 28th...eh, all the info is over there. Click Here.

I'm Bored

Obviously the baby isn't here yet, or the title of this blog would be significantly different. This morning the guys went fishing and Micaela, Sharon and I went and got pedicures, and now I don't know what to do - I'm just bored. Micaela has some friends over, a brother and sister (meaning I have to babysit and make sure they don't kill eachother), so I can't really take a nap, I don't really feel like cleaning, Sharon's got dinner done already, so there's just not much to do. Add in the anxiety of just waiting and I feel like I have A.D.D. Oh well, one more day... I go in to the hospital tomorrow at 5pm (I think, can't quite remember -oops), and they'll tell me whether I need to stay the night or can come back Wednesday morning at 8am. Either way, I'll have someone post something on Thursday. If you have any ideas on what I should do in the mean time, let me know!

Any day now...

I'm going to be so cranky if I have to wait until next Wednesday. As you can see, I'm definitely ready! I think he's going to be a little bigger than the 7lbs that the doc predicted.

P.S. The new Indiana Jones movie was just okay. Now I have to go to work :(

NLT 28 May

We use NLT in the military a lot, meaning no-later-than. When I went to my doctor's appointment today she told me that I could either start having check-ups every few days, or I could get on the schedule for an induction. There's no way I'm waiting any longer than I have to, so I told her to put me on the schedule. If not before (and we're definitely hoping for before), Jon's birthday will be 28 May. It's funny how a few weeks changes things. Two weeks ago I was nervous that no one would be around when I went into labor, but now it seems like I'm going to have lots of help and support. We're excited to have everyone come and visit, I'll definitely appreciate all the help! Since I'm so close, I'm trying to hold out until free-ice cream day. Kurt, on the other hand, wants me to hold out until after Indiana Jones premieres. We'll just have to wait and see.

Still Here...

Still huge. Maybe I'll be one of the 3% of women that actually has their baby on their due date, but probably not. If I have to wait, I might was well wait until after I get my free ice-cream (http://www.slashfood.com/2008/05/15/baskin-robbins-is-giving-free-ice-cream-to-mom-to-be-on-may-21/). Thanks for the info Doug. I'll make sure to have Mari post something for me if anything changes over the weekend.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day - Mom, Mari, Shellie, and any other mom who reads this! It's been a great day for me so far. I slept in an extra hour before my stomach decided that I needed food and woke me up, then I relaxed in the TV room, read a book, took a nap, and pretty much did nothing all day. I was kind of hoping that Jonathan would come today so that I wouldn't have to go to work tomorrow, but no such luck, oh well. Kurt left at 5am this morning and still isn't back, so Micaela has been taking care of herself and cleaning up all her messes and letting me relax. She got me an awesome Mother's Day gift:

I don't know what's better, the necklace or the card :) I've reminded her of the "I will listen" twice and she actually smiled and did what I told her, how great! Our friends the Covaney's invited us over for a cook-out tonight and it was really fun and I enjoyed having other adults to hang out with. They had their whole family over and they are all just funny, kind of like our family.

I also have some cute pictures from Mari's visit that were taken with my camera.

Just so you know, Mari asked me if I cleaned the dog cages everyday and I said, "oh yeah, every day" very sarcastically (I'm way too lazy to do anything like that). Well, she didn't pick up on the sarcasm and therefore let Caroline play, oops. Sorry Mari! But just so you know, I did do a good cleaning of the cages the week before they got here so all that was in the cage was a little dirt.

What I've Learned this Week

Check Mari's blog if you want to see what I've been up to this week, but I just had to let everyone know that I'm pretty dang impressed that she can handle 2 kids, 24 hours a day. I'm good with one or the other (the smaller one is easier I've learned). She left me alone with both of them the other morning while taking a shower and we did great. Anabelle hung out in the rainforest chair and I followed Caroline around the house while she explored, no problem. I watched them again in the afternoon while Georgia was cutting her hair and it was fine for a little bit, but when Caroline started to fuss, and then Anabelle started to fuss, it was totally overwhelming. It's a good thing Jon doesn't have a twin, one is going to be enough for me!

As Requested...

I decided to take my camera along this weekend to capture what we do with our free time (since I've been getting complaints). We pretty much alternate weekends with another couple that lives a few houses down hosting dinner and poker. This weekend we did poker on Friday and then another cookout on Saturday to watch the Derby.

Of course Kurt and I had to dress up
Kurt and Mike REALLY enjoying the mint juleps

The hostess and her son Willy-Wang

Kurt also decided to surprise me on Friday by getting the nursery all set up. Before we found out we were having a boy, we had moved Micaela out of the pink room and into the bigger blue room, but it just didn't really work out since we no longer had a guest bed. In one day, he and Micaela switched the rooms back, painted the baby furniture white, got everything setup and even washed all the baby clothes. I was impressed. I had really wanted the room done before he left for annual training, but wasn't up to doing it myself, so I was very happy. Here's pictures of both rooms:

Micaela's new (old) room

The pillows on the floor are for a sleepover, we don't actually make her sleep there

The new nursery / aka Jonathan's Room
Pappy Weaver made this hutch top and changing pad holder just for Jon. We had the dresser, Kurt just painted it white and got new hardware to match everything else.

Micaela's Story

Since my blog was "lame" according to someone... Micaela wanted a chance to share her story (edited for spelling).

The Tooth Fairy and the Germs

One night there was a fairy named Lucinda. She was a tooth fairy. One day she got sick, she caught the germs. Did I mention she lived on Fairy Lane? No? Well any ways, she couldn't pick up the teeth because she didn't want to spread germs so she sent her friend to get the teeth. On the way she saw the bad fairy named Liverna. She flew away as fast as she could. Then she dropped to the ground saying "Lucinda I failed you!" The end.
